Just arrived – lots of reclaimed oak flooring!

Hello Forklift Fans –

Just wanted to let you know that we have recently received several donations of oak floorboards.  Thanks to fabulous volunteers from University of Maryland’s Gemstone program, it’s all been sorted and bundled, and is waiting for you at our warehouse!

Most of what we have is 2.25″ wide, salvaged from older homes around the region.  It’s priced at $2.00 – $2.50 a square foot (depending on condition).  Come pick up a few bundles for a patching project, or pick up several hundred square feet to do an entire room.

Josue Barrera sent us a picture of the reclaimed planks he installed. Great job, Josue!

Of course, there are also a ton of cool creative projects to be done with reclaimed floorboards.  The grain is really pretty in older wood, so it can make for a beautiful picture frame.

Or experiment with different chalk-style paints and waxes to create a beautiful headboard or wall art!

Drew Xeron actually created this wall out of reclaimed beadboard, not flooring, but the same principle applies! Just paint in a variety of colors, then line up the tongue and grooves in a nice pattern.
