Join us for Green Friday and Small Business Saturday!

What are you doing right after Thanksgiving?

At the holidays, shouldn’t you be spending time with family and friends instead of wasting money on imported plastic junk?  Well, this year is your chance to break the Black Friday habit, and choose community instead of commercialism.

Check out these great tips to simplify your holiday season, from the Center for a New American Dream.

or Small Business Saturday (Nov. 29).

Yes, yes, we’ll be holding a big sale, but the emphasis of our celebration is really on relaxing and spending time with friends and neighbors!

So what do we have planned for the big party?  Well, cocoa and hot cider to keep you warm, of course!  We will have some cookies, but you like to bake, feel free to bring some of your treats to share too.

Adults and children can make gifts for family and friends.

From 10am – 6pm on Fri. & Sat, we’ll have an ornament-making station and a coaster-making station (bring photos for your family to make into coasters!).  This activity is free, though donations are appreciated.craft - wind chimes compressed

On Friday, from 12pm – 4pmArts on a Roll will be here! A project of Prince George’s County Parks & Planning, these folks will help you make image transfer tee-shirts ($5 a shirt).  Bring in a reverse print of what you’d like on a tee-shirt. It could make the perfect gift for Grandpa or Grandma! Arts on a Roll logo

At this year’s Mistletoe Market, you’ll find lots of eco-friendly gifts and homemade housewares from local artists.  The Market is open throughout November and December, but on Friday and Saturday during the celebration, we’ll also have artists scattered about the warehouse (times vary), selling their wares and demonstrating how they make their amazing upcycled items.
