Call For Entries
The Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture in Partnership with Community Forklift is now accepting submissions and proposals for the exhibition We|Source to be held August 7 to 30, 2015 in the Popcorn Gallery. Eligible artwork is created in any medium and can be freestanding (via floor or pedestal) or wall hanging (there are limits and restrictions on wall hung sculptural works). There are no restrictions on the medium as long as at least 50% of the work is recycled/resourced/re-appropriated material. This juried exhibition is to take place in the Popcorn Gallery at Glen Echo Park.
The Partnership and Community Forklift are seeking artwork comprised of minimally 50% recycled/resourced/re-appropriated material, any medium. The work can be wall hanging or freestanding. There is a wire hanging system on one wall in the gallery as well as floor space and pedestals. Work is allowed to be hung on non-wired walls. The work may be kinetic, static, interactive and more. All hanging art work must have hanging hardware installed on the back of the piece.
This call is open to all artists.
Artists may enter up to 5 pieces for consideration and 2 proposals. The Jurors will select works to be included and proposals to be accepted based on craftsmanship, quality, originality, and space. The Partnership will arrange all works for display, however artists may provide additional display materials as appropriate. The Partnership and Community Forklift reserves the right to exclude any item that has not been suitably prepared for display, is too large for proper display, or does not meet the criteria for eligible work. The Partnership receives a 30% commission on sales from this exhibition. The artist agrees that digital images of work and proposals submitted may be used for exhibition publicity, with artist credit given.
The Jurors will review submissions and select works to be included. Selected artists will be notified by August 2nd and will be required to sign an exhibition agreement.
