Shop green, shop small, or don’t shop at all… let’s celebrate community instead of the mall
It’s Small Business Saturday! From now until 4pm, we have live entertainment, free gift-making workshops, local artists, delicious food, and free photos with Santa for all ages. It’s FREE (and friendly, leashed pets are welcome too).
We also have a big sale on almost everything in the warehouse, including most vintage and modern items. Scroll down for all the details.
11 am – 4 pm: Community Crafting Nook. Make hardware wind chimes, tile coasters, & more
Forklift Fan Amir Lowery made coasters using our tiles and his beautiful photography
1pm, Candle-making & decorating
Myeisha Paskel from Be Playful
3 pm, Decoupage on wood
Caitlin Adams from Slippery Crockery
Do you know someone who would love a Community Forklift gift card? You can order one online or pick up one in the store. How about a t-shirt? By Green Friday, we’ll be fully stocked with small through 3x (in both mens and womens sizes), so come on by.
We also have a ton of local artists exhibiting during the party:
Justin Plakas and Rachel Debuque, Plakookee (Art print sales benefit the Forklift’s community giving programs for neighbors in need)
Caitlin Adams, Slippery Crockery
Angie Bell, Angie’s Gift Baskets
Myeisha Paskel, Be Playful, LLC
Sally Ann Rogers, Blue Gator Jewelry
Munir Ward, MWForge handmade blades
Kim Joy, Stained glass and beaded jewelry
Mary Ann Lipovsky, Watercolor artworks
Delia Mychajluk, Oil paintings and sculptures
Joe Rogers, Acrylic artworks
2pm – 2pm: Strolling Magician Matt Neufeld
2pm: 42nd Street Singers (caroling)
12pm – 4pm: The jolly old elf will be here for photos, and to hear your greenest wishes and desires.
Take 25% off almost everything in the store Friday through Sunday (November 25-27, 2016). Sale does not include lumber, items with missing or damaged price tags, select specialty items, items listed online, Salvage Arts antiques, Amazon Recycled Paint, Treincarnation raw-edge lumber, reconditioned appliances from Alco Repair, or upcycled decor and gifts from Tanglewood Works. May not be combined with other sales.
Also check out all the beautiful upcycled presents at Tanglewood Works. They’re now in two locations – one in our building and one at the corner of Route 1 and Gallatin Street in Hyattsville!
And if you can’t make it out to see us this weekend, visit Community Forklift’s eBay and Etsy stores for one-of-a-kind presents that are perfect for the DIYer or vintage-lover in your life.
