Hello Forklift Fans – As you may know, part of our mission here at Community Forklift is to educate the public about reuse. One way we do this is by offering free workshops on sustainability, old home repair, upcycling, and DIY. Right now, we’re planning our Spring Workshop Series, and we’re looking for presenters.
Often our workshop presenters are community members, artisans, and/or tradespeople who shop here and use our materials regularly. Do you fit the description below – or do you know someone who does?
–> You are a tradesperson, love to DIY, or know something about going green at home,
–> You are knowledgeable about historic preservation techniques or repairing old homes,
–> You completed a home improvement project and would like to share pictures and talk about the lessons you learned,
–> You know how to make a cool craft with reclaimed materials, and would have fun teaching others!
We offer all presenters a $75 gift certificate to our warehouse as a token of appreciation for their time, expertise, and commitment to our local communities. We also do quite a bit of marketing for each workshop in our newsletter (which has a circulation of 19,000 DC metro area residents), on our website (with an average rate of 1,000 views a day), and on our social media (with a following of over 8,000 folks on Facebook and over 3,000 on Twitter).
So if you have a small business, this can be a great way to get some publicity and attract new clients!

**We’re also planning our annual Spring Garden Party (on April 1st & 2nd). Although most of our exhibitors are confirmed, we need your input! We still don’t have a group lined up to sell plants.
