Live Music from Jackson, Oziel & Moss
We’re excited to welcome newcomers to the Forklift stage: Jackson, Oziel & Moss with their blues, rhythm, and roots music.
David Jackson, David Oziel, and Howard Moss met at the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation’s jam in Riverdale, Maryland. Their passion for the blues led to an immediate bonding. The two Davids represented the DC Blues Society as a duo at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN in 2015. As a trio, they performed at the 2015 DC Blues Festival held at Carter Baron Amphitheater in Washington, DC. They formed the band, DC Mudd in 2015 and represented the DC Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN in 2016.
Joseph Rogers is back again this year with his cryptic style paintings that often depicting iconic Madonnas, beast-like creatures, and, sometimes, darkly (and often female) religious images. Viewers should not miss Rogers’ unique sense of humor that peeks through it all.
Marie-B Cilia De Amicis considers herself not an artist, nor a photographer, but rather “just a ‘button pusher’ who tries to capture the evanescence of the light and the bliss of the moment.” She brings an artist’s eye to subjects as varied as urban landscapes, intricate floral compositions and different ethnic groups. Many of her photos have been gathered on trips to over 60 countries in six continents, and reflect her southern Mediterranean style. She will be here with a variety of items: photographic prints on paper, metal and Plexiglas; sun catchers; wine charms; night lights; mouse pads; postcards and TufTop boards; trivets; coasters.
Nancy Sims is a multi-decade visual artist who believes that art, purposed with love, joy and caring, can create a zone where hearts connect and agree, even if for just a moment in time. She will be here with acrylic paintings, mixed media, mosaics.
Pat Doyen is an artist who works in fine-art photography, film & video, and photo-based prints. The boundaries of these fields often overlap in her art. Her artwork is heavily influenced by her training as a film archivist. Being an archivist has fueled her love for the medium of film itself and of “orphan” pop culture.
And a Pop-Up Bar
