Help give FREE appliances to neighbors in need

How do you cook a healthy and affordable meal for your family without a working stove or refrigerator? How does a person with mobility issues clean their clothes when their washer stops working? How does a senior recover from a medical condition in a house without a working air conditioner?

Thousands of Maryland families and individuals with low incomes struggle with these issues every year. Community Forklift picks up donations of building materials, furniture, appliances, and more and gives those in need access to these basic life necessities.

One recipient, Ms. M, is a 77-year-old Maryland Resident who couldn’t afford to replace her broken 27-year-old refrigerator. Her social worker referred her to Community Forklift and we provided her with a gently-used appliance. In an email, her social worker said that “Ms. M. is so happy and wanted to be sure to express her gratitude for your help!”

Now, through the Maryland Charity Campaign 2019, Maryland State Employees and eligible Retirees can support this mission through a convenient payroll deduction. The campaign only lasts until December 17, so donate today.
