At Community Forklift, your well-being is always our first priority. Following directives from the CDC and state and local governments to cancel events drawing large crowds, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 11th Annual Spring Garden Party. While it’s disappointing to miss out on this beloved annual event, the cancellation is necessary to protect the health and safety of the community.

We do, however, want to continue supplying our neighbors with low-cost garden tools, pots, and other gardening essentials. In order to avoid the crowds associated with an event, we will begin gradually releasing these materials for sale starting Saturday, March 21 at 9am and continuing until everything is sold. We will monitor the number of people in the store and institute staggered entry if needed to avoid crowding.

We aim to serve our community by staying open as a resource for low-cost home repair essentials and will continue to watch the COVID-19 situation for developments. Visit our blog to read how we are taking all precautions recommended by the CDC and local authorities and working to ensure a safe experience for our community.

Thank you for your continued support of Community Forklift and other non-profits and small businesses!

Every donation and purchase helps us lift up local communities through reuse. Community Forklift turns the construction waste stream into a resource stream for communities in the DC region – by keeping perfectly good items out of the landfill, preserving historical materials, providing low-cost building supplies, and creating local green jobs.
