Manager of Administration

Community Forklift is seeking an experienced Manager of Administration to work with our growing green business. This is a full-time position. Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We are seeking someone with knowledge of organizational administration and policy, office and supply management, master filing systems, intra-office communication, insurance and legal compliance, network, phone and security in a fast-paced environment. This position will include data management, exceptional organizational skills, drafting correspondence and interacting with customers and donors in a professional manner, and a high level of attention to detail. This position is ideal for someone who is tech savvy with excellent computer skills and wants to excel in a growing sustainable nonprofit environment.

What you’ll be doing:
You will be responsible for answering the phones and representing Community Forklift’s mission while handling incoming calls and directing them to the right department, interacting with donors and customers, while providing excellent service. You will work to create efficient office procedures, forms, maintain filing systems and other recordkeeping functions. You will oversee the purchasing of supplies and equipment, and ensure proper protocols and track inventory of supplies and equipment. You will provide support to the development team during the grant review process, CEO and COO as needed.

Qualities of the perfect candidate:
• At least three years of experience in office management and administration, excellent writing and copy-editing skills, supply management, and knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office required
• Experience managing organizational scheduling and calendaring activities
• Experience with the insurance industry and maintaining timely renewals of required coverages and audits Knowledge of workplace best practices and protocols for office administration

Donations Logistics Coordinator

Community Forklift is seeking a full-time Donations Logistics Coordinator to work with our growing green business. Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The Donations Logistics Coordinator is primarily responsible for managing donor relations through email, phone, and project management software, and all the logistics of residential and organizational donation pickups.

What you’ll be doing:
The Coordinator’s duties include day to day supervision of the drivers and helpers; providing guidance, support, and training; ensuring oversight of truck safety and maintenance; responding to all requests for pickups; and scheduling those pickups as appropriate. The Coordinator also will be responsible for related record-keeping and information management. The Coordinator needs to provide excellent customer service and ensure effective and problem-free services to our donors.

The Coordinator will also provide administrative support for our deconstruction program including managing project data through Google Calendar, project management software and CRM; filing and organizing all project related paperwork; scheduling pickups, submitting and tracking invoice payments; and customer service responsibilities.

Qualities of the perfect candidate:
• 1 year of donations/routing/logistics experience required
• Excellent knowledge of truck routes and driving directions within the DC metropolitan area
• Prior truck or commercial dispatching experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly the ability to work with a very diverse constituency of donors including homeowners, construction contractors, real estate agents, and architects
• Supervisory experience
• Excellent customer service skills and commitment to providing superior service
• Good computer literacy skills: ability to respond to donors regularly via email; create documents and reports; maintain contacts and other information; familiarity with using a database; ability to use Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Apps

CONTRACT Photographer

CONTRACT Photographer position available

Community Forklift is seeking a freelance contract photographer who will be responsible for photographing, editing and archiving images of our ecommerce inventory for sale. Candidates for this position should have proven experience with digital photography, studio lighting and photo editing software. A portfolio of comparable product photography work is required to be considered for this position.

Position Requirements:
• Photograph hardware, lighting, furniture, appliances and other product for sale.
• Providing a number of digital photographs for each product and edit for professional presentation on digital platforms
• Edit photographs with professional photo editing software
• Be familiar with studio lighting and set preparation for a variety of large and small product
• Ensure that all products are lit well to create the best images
• Produce high quality images; ensuring exposure and color consistency
•Perform quality assurance on all images
•Crop and processing of all images
•Naming and maintaining digital asset files
•Keep all records and related data management as required
•Accurately archiving images
•Meeting daily and weekly production deadlines
•Maintaining general appearance of studio, proper storage of photo equipment and set painting.
• Assembling/disassembling backgrounds, sets, and photographic equipment as needed.

We will need you to be someone who has:
• Proven experience in E-commerce photography, digital cameras, and lighting
• Good technical proficiency in photo editing programs
• Portfolio demonstrating work (must be submitted with resume in order to be considered for position)

This is hourly contract work and dependent upon the flow of merchandize we need photographed.  The product staging and photo sessions would be conducted on site at Community Forklift on an as needed basis. We have a staging area, equipment, camera and lenses. Vintage and Specialty Products Coordinator

Community Forklift is seeking an experienced Vintage and Specialty Products Coordinator to work full time with our growing green business. Some weekend hours may be required. Candidates from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We are seeking someone with knowledge of high-end building materials, architectural elements, antique or vintage house parts, housewares and furniture. This position includes the identification and pricing of product, assistance with customer concerns, maintaining inventory, and merchandising. This position is ideal for someone with solid knowledge of vintage, high end and specialty product pricing through various venues and markets including thrift, consignment, and online.

You will interact with coworkers and customers, provide information about items, answer questions, share knowledge, and promote our sustainable green nonprofit business.

Qualities of the perfect candidate:
• Five + years of continuous experience in the auction or estate industry, prior antique or vintage retail sales in the areas of product identification, pricing, or appraising. Education in furniture, interior design, materials management, or conservation.
• Extensive knowledge of building materials, vintage, antique, and high end furniture, lighting, hardware, and housewares
• Familiarity with market trends and online retail platforms

Community Forklift is seeking full time and part time staff, preferably with some experience, to work on our Online Sales Team for a local growing green nonprofit. We prefer someone that is willing to learn, detail oriented with good basic writing skills and an interest in vintage and specialty materials.

Receiving & Processing Warehouse Associate I

Community Forklift is seeking a Receiving and Processing Warehouse Associate I to work with our growing green business. Duties include working with donated salvage and surplus building material and
household goods; organizing, sorting, and cleaning donated items; researching and pricing them; and
stocking and merchandising them on the showroom floor to enhance our customer experience. This position will also include some deconstruction work (removal of house/building fixtures for donation).

You will work creatively and collaboratively with other departments to enhance the customer experience and to improve the flow through of materials. You will also work offsite with our deconstruction team to remove items such as kitchen cabinets and appliances from buildings undergoing renovation.

You will work creatively and collaboratively with other departments to enhance the customer experience and to improve the flow through of materials.

Qualities of the perfect candidate:
• Experience in a warehouse or retail environment in the hardware, home goods, or building materials/trades industries, particularly in pricing
• Experience with computer research on pricing of building materials and/or home goods
• Basic computer skills including familiarity with internet research, Microsoft products (Word, Excel) and Google Business Apps (Gmail, calendars, Chrome, etc.)
