On the first Friday of each month (May-September), we stay open late to turn the warehouse into a pop-up market with a mystery sale, live music, local art, a delicious food truck, and craft beer & wine!

Don’t miss your last chance of the year to party at the Forklift after dark! The final installment in our summer concert series will take place from on Friday, September 7th. We’ll have local food, craft beer and wine, live music, a pop-up artist market, and a few first-time treats!

(5 min. outside NE DC in the Port Towns neighborhood, near Hyattsville)
Who: YOU! And your friends, family, kids, neighbors, coworkers, and (friendly, leashed) dogs.
Cost: Free to attend – But you can support your local artists and businesses by purchasing their wares and tipping the band.

Live music from Janine Wilson Band

Janine Wilson’s music will speak to fans of rock, alt country and all sounds that resonate within the fabric of American Music. She has been honored with 10 Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies), including song and album of the year for her third CD, Wakin’ Up, which was recorded in New York City and Philadelphia’s Studio 4 with Grammy Award-winner Phil Nicolo and co-writer/guitarist, Max Evans (Ugly Americans). The Washington Post describes Janine as “poignant and seductive” and Richmond’s Style Weekly says, “…when Wilson digs her heels in and opens up her big voice, it’s best to pay close attention.”

Shortcake Bakery is a 5 year old bakery, located just around the corner from Forklift in Hyattsville, Maryland. Shortcake Bakery exclusively bakes with fresh ingredients, producing products with a homemade taste. They’ll be bringing their new ice cream machine for a multitude of soft serve ice cream options!

Caitlin Adams uses old wooden things, vintage housewares and driftwood, her “canvas” for paint and decoupage, the latter often saved, collected and upcycled paper or fabric. she is self-taught in the multimedia she uses.

Denise Marie Painting is a cooperative art business between Denise Marie, who produces oil paintings, photography, prints and note cards and Richard Brown (Riccardo), who produces, wood sculpture, silver, bronze and copper jewelry.

Jeff Sutton, of RiverCraft Custom Furniture, is woodworker and photographer who has been working and teaching in the Washington, D.C. area for over 30 years. He specializes in small-scale building projects that are unique to a client’s desires. Past projects have included restaurant bars, custom cabinetry, and kayak building. He’ll be here with an assortment of small pieces for you to shop.

 

Joe Rogers is back with his cryptic style paintings that often depicting iconic Madonnas, beast-like creatures, and, sometimes, darkly (and often female) religious images. Viewers should not miss Rogers’ unique sense of humor that peeks through it all.

Mary Ann Lipovsky often works with pen and ink and watercolor, focusing on house portraits, city scenes, portraits, and animals. “I am an artist and art is my business.” She’ll be selling her original works of art available in miniatures, cards and 8×10’s.
