Lifting up communities through reuse

Community Forklift
Dear Forklift Fan,
As we near the end of the year, we feel it’s important to highlight the meaningful work that we do for our community. Community Forklift converts donated building materials and home goods into jobs, economic development, and community resources. We are committed to providing good, higher than minimum wage jobs with excellent benefits, opportunities for growth, employment training, and mentoring.
This year, we increased support for our community by donating more than $68,000 of home essentials and materials to 523 people in 183 households, our highest giving year to date. This amounted to more than 4,500 items donated to households, other non-profits, and schools. We are the ONLY organization in the DMV to provide critical appliances and building materials free to our neighbors in need.
We’re proud of our work, and thank our supporters for making this important aspect of our mission possible. Our community’s appreciation combined with more than 30 local and national awards demonstrates that the work we are doing is having a positive impact.
Donations from homeowners, local contractors, and businesses make our work possible. Please consider making a financial or material donation in support of our work today!

Community Forklift welcomes financial contributions. Every financial gift, large or small, helps us fulfill our mission to promote reuse and to lift up communities.
