Do you know about Community Forklift, the DC region’s salvage nonprofit?

If you’re decluttering or planning a renovation, the Forklift is a great resource. They offer a free pickup service for donations of reusable building materials, kitchen cabinets, working appliances, lighting and plumbing fixtures, furniture and vintage items, tools, hardware, and more. They pick up throughout the metro area in DC, MD, and Northern VA.

Your donation will help create jobs for people with barriers to employment; reduce waste; provide free supplies to local nonprofits; and provide safer and more comfortable living environments for seniors, disabled veterans, and other neighbors in need. Not only that, but you’ll reduce your disposal costs, and you’ll get a tax deduction letter. (Donors in Maryland can even get an extra financial benefit through the state’s Community Investment Tax Credit program!)

The quickest way to request a pickup is to visit CommunityForklift.org/pickup.
You can also contact the Donations Team directly by email, Donations(at)CommunityForklift(dot)org, or call 301-985-5180 (ex. 202) for more information.
